XBoost ranks sites by the qualified visitors they bring — not votes, payments, or backlinks.
How rank works
The entry threshold is currently zero visits, so every accepted site can appear in the leaderboard immediately. Listings begin tied at zero and move up as qualified visits arrive. XBoost may restore a minimum entry threshold later, but it will always be stated here and on the submission form.
Today is a launch board: every listing gets its own full 24-hour slot beginning when it is submitted, and its card shows the time remaining. When that countdown ends, the listing leaves Today but remains eligible for Week, Month, All time, New, and their category views. A listing can be relaunched onto Today once every 7 days; anyone can trigger a relaunch from the campaign page, and it never resets the listing's totals. Week totals the last 7 days, Month totals the last 30 days, and All time uses a listing's lifetime total. The New tab lists the most recently added eligible sites. Ties are broken by the earlier listing.
What counts
A normal browser visit through a listing's unique campaign link can count once per site during a 24-hour period. XBoost checks both a browser identity and a separate public-network fingerprint, so refreshing, clearing site data, changing browser settings, or reopening the same link does not create extra points. Visitors sharing a public network may be grouped together. X, a website, newsletter, community, or another legitimate source can all send traffic. X traffic is reported separately, but one qualified visit still equals one point.
The site-wide visit total also includes qualified direct landings on XBoost. Those visits show overall activity but are not assigned to a listing and do not change rank.
Submitting a site
Only a public site URL and category are required. XBoost reads the page title, meta description, hostname, and favicon from the destination to build the listing. By submitting, you confirm the destination is legitimate and accept these rules.
No account or backlink is required. Anonymous submissions are limited to a small number per day. Submitting an existing destination returns its original campaign link instead of creating a duplicate. Signing in with X attaches a new listing to a public maker profile and portfolio, but does not affect rank.
What does not count
- Bots, crawlers, link previews, monitoring requests, or obvious prefetches.
- Repeated visits from the same deduplicated visitor during the counting window.
- Click farms, forced redirects, popunders, misleading incentives, or automated traffic.
- Attempts to spoof, overload, or manipulate the attribution system.
Links and placement
Every accepted destination receives a public campaign page, share link, and live rank badge immediately. Anyone can use that page to post the campaign on X or LinkedIn, use their device's share sheet, or copy the link. Visitors who arrive through the campaign link see a spotlight for that listing with a direct visit button. The badge is an image served by XBoost that links back to the campaign, so clicks on it count like any other campaign visit. A backlink is welcome but never required. Paying XBoost does not improve rank. Site links are user-submitted outbound links and use search-engine relationship attributes appropriate for user-generated listings.
Moderation
Listings may be corrected, suspended, or removed for spam, abuse, unsafe destinations, impersonation, illegal material, or manipulation. XBoost may tune submission and traffic filters without changing the basic one-qualified-visit, one-point rule.
